The government of Punjab has successfully recruited total 7,354 interns for teaching at government colleges across the province as part of its Higher Education Internship Program. Teaching Interns Will Get Monthly Stipend  

The Punjab has completed its largest higher education internship Program ever, under this program Punjab govt. has aimed to hire a massive number of teaching interns to teach at the public sector colleges of the province. During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Higher Education Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed revealed that the government teaching interns would be paid a monthly stipend of total Rs. 50,000. These internships will span for total eight months, with the interns serving in government colleges until the current academic session ends on 31st March 2024.  
 

Focus on Transparency and Merit  

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif too praised the Higher Education Department for maintaining transparency and merit during the whole teachers recruitment process. This Higher Education Internship Program targets to highlight the issue of shortage of teaching staff in government institutes and also to open the opportunities for fresh graduates and professional teacher to contribute to the education sector.  
 

 

E-transfer Policy For College Teachers  

In addition to the teaching internship program, the meeting also highlighted the successful implementation of the e-transfer policy for college teachers. Under this e-transfer policy, the transfers and postings of 962 college teachers have been completed and all these orders were issued via an online portal to modernize and increase the efficiency of this process.  
 
 

Upcoming Appointments  

Officials also disclosed plans to make sure that the appointment of principals and directors for government colleges in the province will strictly follow transparent and merit based standards. This step strengthens the Punjab government's commitment to promote quality education and fair practices across higher education institutes in Punjab.
