University of the Punjab Gujranwala (PU Gujranwala)

It is for the first time in 124 year history of the Punjab University that it has established a teaching campus outside Lahore. Gujranwala Campus has been established with the keen interest & support of the Honourable Chancellor, Lt. Gen.(R) Khalid Maqbool & Worthy Vice-Chancellor, Lt. Gen.(R) Arshad Mahmood. Opening of sub-campus is in accordance with educational policy of present regime of Gen. Parvaiz Musharraf (President Islamic Republic of Pakistan), who is taking keen interest in promoting education. Gujranwala campus (View Location Map) is located near Alipur Chowk, Rawalpindi By-pass. It has an area of 81 Kanals. It has 37 classrooms, 1 Administration block, fully air conditioned and open shelves library,1 big multi-purpose hall and allied facilities i.e. Car Parking, Canteen, Book Shop and Grassy Lawns.

The campus of Gujranwala is famous for the programs it is offering in various fields such as business administration, computer science, engineering and sciences and social sciences. The learning environment is facilitated by a modern campus that has facilities that will help the learning process. Such facilities include modern equipped laboratories, computer centers, libraries with huge stock of books and other quite comfortable study areas. The focus on skills enhancement and internship guarantees a successful employment of the students in the future. Also, different workshops, seminars, and conferences are produced on the campus in order to update the information concerning current trends in the industry.

Community Engagement and Development

Thus it is the University of the Punjab Gujranwala Campus that takes active part in the community and in its development. It is also involved in different serve causes, outreach programs and social responsibilities within the society with an aim of solving societal problems. The campus seek partnerships with industries, government and non-governmental organizations to expose the students to various assignments and enable them practice what they learn in the practical settings. The campus thus serves an important responsibility of promoting socio-economic development of the Gujranwala region through a vibrant correlation with the population.
