University of Health Sciences Lahore

The University of Health Sciences is an internationally renowned, student-focused research university with an emphasis on health care development. The university was situated in Lahore in 2002. Since its foundation, the university has aimed to provide quality education in the fields of medicine and dentistry. The university holds great importance when it comes to private and public medical colleges in Punjab. There are almost 128 public and private sector medical colleges that are affiliated with the University of Health Sciences.

The University provides the facility of a library as the resource center from where students can access the digital library of the Higher Education Commission that consists of 40,000 online books and 23,000 online journals with abstracts and full texts. The University of Health Sciences is also responsible for conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test, a compulsory requirement for admission to any medical college. Admission Requirements:

The admission requirements of different academic programs vary. However, the basic admission requirements include the following.

Admission requirements for undergraduate:

• Pre-Medical or relevant degree with a minimum marks of 50%.

• The Medical and Dental College Admission Test with minimum marks of 50%. 

Admission requirements for graduates:

• 60% in previous academic record and relevant experience qualifications.

• Graduate assessment test/ Entry Test

• An interview are conducted by the relevant department.

Research Facility:

The University of Health Sciences, Lahore is a research-oriented university and includes the Offices of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). The center enhances research quality and competitiveness, and it also promotes innovation and commercialization. Since its inception, its mission has been to do highly pertinent research that addresses major health issues and raises people's quality of life. Currently, the university is focused on 183 areas for research work that include the gradually rising diseases like diabetes, cancer and its types, infertility, tuberculosis, asthma, hepatitis B and C, and renal and liver disorders.
