The University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila or UET Taxila was established in 1975 and later in 2005 its first campus was inaugurated in Chakwal and until now around five sessions has been enrolled in Electronics and Mechatronics engineering. The Sub-campus is situated in the heart of the Chakwal city in old Kachehri complex on Talagang road. The UET Taxila’s sub-Campus Chakwal offers four years under graduate programs in Electronics and Mechatronics Engineering. The Sub-Campus Chakwal will start three more departments in the second phase while with the support of Higher Education Commission the degree awarding programs in Electrical, Mechanical, and Gas & Petroleum engineering will be started.

The campus Director worked under the direction of Vice-Chancellor UET Taxila is the executive and academic head of the Sub-Campus Chakwal.  The rules and regulations of the UET Taxila are followed in the Sub- Campus Chakwal. UET Taxila is also planning a campus at Pind Dadan Khan in Jhelum District.
