Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) was founded in 1977 by Begum Saida Waheed as a non-profit community hospital specializing in women's and children's health. Its primary goal was to complement and enhance the services provided by the government. Addressing the global challenge of an increasing demand for nurses in healthcare systems, she established a School of Midwifery in 1978. This school evolved into a School of General Nursing in 1995 and later into a College of Nursing, offering a Post Basic One Year Specialization in 1999. In 2007, FMH College of Nursing underwent expansion, introducing Diploma and Degree programs under one umbrella known as Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing. SWCON exclusively admits female candidates. The experienced nurse faculty at SWCON encompasses various disciplines, ensuring a comprehensive education. Both Degree and Diploma nursing programs lead to professional nurses' registration, balancing academic study with practical experience. SWCON boasts nationally recognized nursing leaders and researchers, and the dedicated teaching staff is committed to providing an optimal learning experience for nurses to emerge as confident and competent professionals.
