The college starts functioning in January, 2003 and got affiliation with the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. In 2006, College was declared a constituent college of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Rachna College is very famous both at National and International level for its research. As a cosiderable research work has been done by the institution. Rachna College also holds the uniqueness among other engineering institution as Reseach work is done at Bechelor level.As it is done only at RCET, Gujranwala and GIKI.
