Introduction

Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology is recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Engineering Council. The university is located outside Nawabshah city stretched over the land of 457 acres.

History

In 1963, Sindh University Engineering College Jamshoro was founded for providing the adequate engineering education opportunities to the people of interior of Sindh. The establishment of the university came into being as a constituent college of the University of Sindh. The government decided to upgrade the level of the college to the University Of Engineering & Technology as per education policy of 1972. In February 1974 the classes of 1st year were started.

In July 1976, the university was acknowledged as additional campus of University of Sindh as a result of the amendment in the Sindh University Act, 1972. On 1st March 1977, the level of the additional campus was finally upgraded to the University through an ordinance. According to the act passed by the provincial Assembly of Sindh the institution was named as Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Nawabshah.

Later on the university was named as Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology.

Medium Of Instruction

The medium of instruction of all the subjects including theory and practical is English. All the degree programs (Graduate and Post-graduate) are taught in English so that the students don’t face any difficulty in following any course of study.

Library

There is a library in the university in which there are book, textbooks, newspapers and research journals etc. are available.

IT Services

This facility is offered to the students to offer networking, computing, internet, hardware & software services to them. The Wireless Internet Service is provided to the students of hostels.

English Language Center

This English language center is established in the university to improve the proficiency of English language of students, employees and the faculty members.

Transport

The transport facility is provided through University buses that move between hostels, campus and city center during specific time.

Sports Facilities

Excellent sports facilities are provided by the university to its students. There is a sports complex with all the facilities of the sports.

Health And Security

The students are also given the medical facilities in the form of dispensary, ambulance, senior medical doctor and necessary medicines.

There are 10 Hostels for boys and girls in the university.
