National University Of Modern Languages Islamabad

The National University of Modern Languages (also known as NUML) is a multi-campus, public research university which was established in 1970. The main campus of the NUML is situated in capital of Pakistan called Islamabad and the sub campuses are located in all four provinces of Pakistan. The university's main campus is conveniently situated on Margala Road, Sector H-9 Islamabad, Pakistan. The state of the art built campus is spread over 25 acres.

Main Objective of University

The main objective of the university is to serve the community and society. The university is well-known for its cutting edge researches in the field of languages, grammar, and linguistics. The University has the mission of helping people communicate and interact in a better by understanding each other’s languages and cultures. The University is approved by the Higher Education Commission to award undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral degrees in the field of languages, communications, social sciences, humanities, and management and computer sciences.

The university was granted the charter and status of a full-fledge University in May 2000. The University has covered many milestones in attaining the status of a full-fledge University. The University has shown remarkable growth and progress, it currently offers degree programs in 27 oriental and occidental languages, and numerous other disciplines. The University primarily provided education in the field of languages and linguistics to the personnel of armed forces and other government officers of Pakistan. The vibrant and zealous campus of the University is currently a home to a substantially large student body of 11,000 and highly qualified faculty members. The University houses 35 well-established departments that offer various degree programs to a diverse group of students. The student body is not only large but also very diverse. The university welcomes students from different regions of Pakistan and different counties of the world. There are students from Saudi Arabia, China, Korea and Central Asia. The NUML is a multi-storied campus that consists of well-designed and well-built academic and IT blocks. The inter-disciplinary University offers accommodation and residence to the students. Numerous other facilities like a well-stocked library, well-equipped compute labs and resource centers have been provided to the students.
