National College of Arts has a historical tradition. Much of its present tone was set long ago when it was known as the Mayo School of Arts which was established to tribute Lord Mayo. Lockwood Kipling, who was a teacher of painting and sculpture was appointed as first principal of the school. The Rawalpindi Campus of the National College of Arts (NCA) was established to accommodate the larger interest of students in the field of fine arts. Liaqat Bagh Complex including Auditorium was selected for the NCA building.

Program Offerings

NCA Rawalpindi has the variety of programs that enables there to be the different kinds of artistic discipline from which the students can choose what they love, or they are skilled in. These programs include:

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

This project is dedicated to empowering the students with skills in this area in which they can possess the techniques of the traditional and also contemporary forms of art, such as painting, sculpture, printing, and ceramics. Students are reminded to keep an open mind by working in various media and techniques that all enrich the conception of art and artistry as creative and innovative.

Bachelor of Design (B.Des)

The program is intended for designers-to-be and touches gene on graphics, textiles, fashion, multimedia, and other art forms. Students master the skill of balancing beauty with purpose. They acquire this skill in the process of getting ready for various occupations within the design area as this field is in constant evolution.

Master of Fine Arts (MFA)

The MFA programs can be regarded as the upper-tiers of the educational structure which are a drill-down for the students to explore their particular artistic niches. It is based on the development of these skills as condition sine qua non and on artistic research that help an individual become an important part of the art world.
