Institute Of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi

Initially IBA functioned under the umbrella of University of Karachi. It was only in 1982 that the IBA was granted the charter by Sindh Government and hence it was upgraded to the status of a University and recognized as a separate entity .IBA has shown remarkable growth and progress since its inception. The university expanded itself to offer quality education to the masses. Up till 2003 the university only offered undergraduate study programs. However now, the IBA is acknowledged as an interdisciplinary University that is authorized to offer undergraduate, graduate and post graduate programs.

IBA has inherited academic standards from prestigious International Universities. The international standards of higher education are zealously guarded by the IBA University.

The University is reputed to be highest rank and most selective university offering business programs. The South Asian Quality System has awarded IBA with a coveted certificate for the extraordinary services in the field of education. The IBA is authorized to make affiliations and collaborations with other educational and research institutes. Currently 15 highly ranked international and national level institutes are in affiliation with the IBA Karachi.

The interdisciplinary University has a prime and ideal campus location. The main Campus of the IBA University lies conveniently at the University Road. Whereas the satellite campus is situated at Shaheed Road. The main campus is a spread over 750,000 sq. mark. The state of the art built buildings stand among the lush green and sprawling lawns. The close to the nature environment proves to be conducive to the process of learning. The multi-storied building of the university house program offices, faculty offices, a well-resourced library, a well-furnished auditorium, two well-equipped computer labs and eleven spacious classrooms.

The student body of IBA is fairly large with about 6000 students. Many notable and eminent public and political figures are counted among the alumni of the University. Many alumni have become business tycoons and top business managers. President Mamnoon Husain, Prime Minister Shauqat Aziz and the economists Muhammad Uzair are some of the distinguished alumni of the IBA.

The student societies and clubs are responsible for organizing many recreational and extracurricular events. The students actively participate in these academic and non-academic events.

To achieve the objective of imparting quality education to the masses, the university offers many scholarships and financial aid programs so that no deserving or needy candidate is deprived of their right to education. The merit and need based scholarships are a way of encouraging students to continue their higher education despite the monetary obstacles and financial crisis.
