Hitec University Taxila

Established in 2007, HITEC University is private-sector University that is based in Taxilla, Punjab. The HITEC University enrolled its first batch comprising of only 250 students in November 2007.The University was back then affiliated with the University of Engineering & Technology, Taxilla.

Charter was granted to the university by the Government of Punjab in 2009.

Heavy Industries Taxilla Education Welfare Trust (HITEWT) sponsors the HITEC University. As the university was primarily conceived as a part of this Welfare Trust.

The inauguration of this multi-disciplinary institution was done by the former president Pervez Musharraf. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs in engineering (electrical, mechanical, computer), management sciences, mathematics and Islamic Shari’ a.

The state of the art build campus is spread over 50 acres and is located at the feet of Margalla hills only a few km away from the historically significant Taxilla City.

Although the HITEC University is relatively new in the field of Higher Education, but still it has managed to carve its niche by delivering premium class education. The university has marked a remarkable progress since its inception. The University has readily accepted the international rules and policies to upgrade the standards of education.

The management, faculty and administration of the university struggle to include the name of the HITEC University among the leading universities of Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission has acknowledge the commendable services rendered by the University in the field of Education and hence placed it in the ‘W’ Category.

The university offers a conducive learning environment to the students so that they can excel in academics, research co-curricular and extra-curricular fields. Apart from delivering top class education, the university instills high moral values among the students.

The educational beliefs of the university are unique and original. The staff and administration of HITEC University believes that education should cater the development of man in every aspect. Whether it’s spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, scientific or linguistic, education should improve and upgrade man in all aspects.

HITEC is very keen to cater the requirements and needs of the students and hence provides numerous academic and non-academic facilities and services to students such as library, sports facilities financial aids and/or scholarships.
