We are proud of the fact that Government post graduate college for women S/Twon, Gujranwala, the oldest and the largest college of Gujranwala division, continues to impart quality education to students from all over the division. Our college has attained a distinguished place among the post graduate colleges of Punjab due to its strong commitment and research pursuits. In the rapidly changing world of 21st century,it is but imperative that we, understand the need of redesigning and reshaping of the curricula implemented with informed methodologies for interactive and effective teaching and learning. To meet the challenges of the new world and its emerging needs. . Our graduates are able to launch on successful carriers in all fields of life, steer by three basic guiding principles, efficiency, relevance and quality.

The academic programs at the college aim at imparting interdisciplinary knowledge, a broader vision and a critical awareness of current problems. A generation of students have come to this institution, studied here and left with, what we have, as our internal motto inscribed in our college logo,” know thyself”, an awareness of their potentialities ,going onward on the path of life, searching for new horizon. It is a matter of pleasure for me to congratulate new students in anticipation of their admission to Govt. P/G college for (W),S/town, Gujranwala seeking an educational institution not only to discipline their sensibility but also to refine their vision and graduate to maturity. They are going to shine as stars on the skies of the world as leading scientist, economist, bureaucrats, politicians, and professionals in whatever field they chose. Introducing the 4-years(hons.) degree is a major challenge for higher education institutions in Pakistan.

It is well known fact that 2-years Bachelor Degree clearly lagged behind, both qualitatively and quantitatively in the international academic world and the job market, where 16 years of education leading to graduation is required.In order to produce graduates with quality education at par with international standards, the Govt of Punjab has decided to introduce the 4-years(Hons.) degree program at all the most recognized and prestigious colleges of the Punjab. Govt.P/G college (W) s/town GRW being one such institution has not only accepted the challenge, but has also envisaged it as an opportunity to realize its vision of higher education in its disciplinary and interdisciplinary dimensions. I welcome the new entrants to this old seat of learning, which has become a center of excellence for female education in Gujranwala. I am sure they will have a comfortable stay at their alma –mater and will make every effort to benefit from the excellent faculty and adequate facilities provided by the college.
