Balochistan University Of Information Technology & Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Quetta

BUITEMS is the acronym for Baluchistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences. It was established in Quetta as a public research university. The university was chartered by the Government of Baluchistan on 18th July 2002.The University is authorized to offer graduate and undergraduate degrees.BUITEMS has received recognitions from the following departments:

1. Higher education Commission Pakistan

2. National Computing Education Accreditation Council

3. Japan Board of Robotics Study (Osaka)

4. Supreme Electronic Engineering Council (USA)

The premier university is fully functional and offers illustrious higher education and research. The constitutional bodies of the university like Academic Council, Board of Advanced Studies, the Senate, and Finance Committee etc. are placed in accordance with the 2007 Amendment Ordinance. Top class academicians, administration and educators govern these constitutional bodies. In March 2007, Engr.Ahmed Farooq took over as the Vice chancellor and the university began a new journey of development and success.

There are 3 campuses accredited to the university. The first campus is the City Campus which comprises of:

1. Faculty of Management Science
2. Faculty of Biotechnology and Informatics
3. Faculty of Arts and Basic Sciences

The City Campus is situated away from the polluted and noisy environment of the city, in the heart of Jinnah town. The campus is free of any distractions and interferences and provides a peaceful environment for learning. The three storied building accommodates the offices of faculties, spacious classrooms, library, and an auditorium. The classrooms are well furnished and well-equipped with learning gadgets and technologies such as multimedia, networking etc.

• The Takatu campus houses the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology and the Faculty of Engineering. Takatu campus is known as the hub of all significant academic, administrative and research activities. The Takatu campus includes an Expo center which is the distinguishing feature of this campus.
• Expo Centre is an ideal choice for academic seminars, meetings, conventions, convocations, and exhibitions. The highly-sophisticated Petroleum Lab is also one of the salient features of this campus.
• Another well-equipped lab housed in the Takutu campus is the Textile Lab which is a major attraction to the textile engineers. Latest, state-of-the-art labs IT and labs are also present at the Takutu campus.
• While the Chiltan Campus accommodates the research forums and sophisticated labs for the Faculty of Life Sciences and Informatics.
• The facilities at different campuses are available to all students. Especial transportation services is provided that ply between the City Campus and Takutu Campus.
