The Allama Iqbal Open University is an old establishment that has 44 regional campuses and centers throughout Pakistan including in Faisalabad Millat Road, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. This institution was first formulated in 1976 and it was more beneficial for those who’re doing a job and people who wanted to continue their education from home.

Along the years the university has been rapidly progressing and amplifying their work with eligible assistance. The AIOU was the second Open University in the world and first in all of Asia. This university has been proven most beneficial for females and its existence has increased the literacy rate for women. The initial name for this institute was called People’s Open University and later on it was changed with ‘Allama Iqbal Open University based on our national poet and philosopher. AIOU in Islamabad has been a successful project because it has been providing education to those who’re unable to attend university and it has improved the basic education advances.

Admission Requirements

You can buy the prospectus from any Regional office of AIOU, fill the form according to the prospectus instructions, and submit your form in your nearest bank while saving receipt from that bank. The admission criteria is not strict as passing in your previous session is required and even second division base students can get the admission. All the humanities subjects are available and you can choose from those subjects.

Scholarship

Allama Iqbal Open University offers scholarship and free education while free education is granted to those who come from unprivileged areas and scholarship to the ones in need.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• You should be an AIOU continuing student.
• Scholarship will be granted to those who’re enrolled in 2^nd semester onward.
• Student’s annual income should be less than 400,000/- PKR.
• Students must have an annual income certificate and showing the annual income as Performa designed and attached is required.
• Documents like National Identity Card, “B” form and income certificate should be submitted
