BS City and Regional Palnning Admission Process

The admission process consists of admission forms, entry tests, and interviews depending on every University and its requirements. The admission process for a bachelor’s degree begins after a candidate has completed their intermediate or equivalent studies with a minimum of 50% marks. The admission process proceeds with the submission of the application form and fee of the particular university. The admission form includes the personal background of the student, parent/ guardian information, and previous academic records. Every university has its own requirements for the entry test and interview. The universities submit their merit lists of the successful candidates after the admission process. 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for BS in the city and regional planning include an intermediate or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks. 

Admission Intake

The admission intake occurs in two rounds a year. The first round includes the yearly admissions whereas, the second round includes admissions twice a year. 

Entry Test

Every university has various requirements for its admission criteria. There are different types of entry tests for admissions in postgraduate degrees:

  • NTS- National Testing Service

NTS is a national and general test for the admissions of bachelor's degrees. There are various NTS-associated universities that accept the NTS test while other universities conduct their own test. The pattern for the test includes logical, analytical, and general reasoning questions. 

  • University Test:

Most universities consider MCAT/NTS tests. The students who have not attempted any of the graduate tests are then required to undergo the particular university test. The test usually consists of logical, analytical, and field-related questions. Some universities only consider their entry test while others accept a general assessment test. 

Merit Lists

After the admission process is completed, every university displays its merit list. The merit is based on the previous academic records, entry test, and the interview (if any) given at the time of admission. There can be various merit lists according to the seat availability of the specific university.
 

Fee Structure

The fee structure differs for several universities. The private sector has a relatively higher fee structure than the public sector which is divided in a quarterly manner at most universities. 

Institutions:

Some HEC recognized universities offering BS in the city and regional planning are:

  • University of Management and Technology
  • Lahore College for Women University
  • Mehran University of Engineering & Technology
  • University of Peshawar

Public Sector:

  • Lahore College for Women University

Lahore College for Women University offers a bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning. The admission requirements include F.Sc. (Pre Engineering)/ ICS/General Science or equivalent. The eligibility criteria include a minimum of 60% marks. The admission is solely granted on an admission basis. The department conducts its own entrance test and interview. 

  • University of Peshawar

The university offers a bachelor’s degree in City and regional planning. The admission requirement includes an intermediate or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks. 

Private Sector:

  • University of Management and Technology:

A student who wants to enroll for a bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning must possess Intermediate/A level or equivalent with Mathematics and secure a minimum of 45% marks and no 3rd division in matriculation. The entry test for admission is mandatory for every student. The entry test can be a UMT entry test or NTS with a minimum score of 50%.
