Speakers at a two-day gathering of Asian libraries held here encouraged the legislature and humanitarians to help in setting up greatest number of libraries in Pakistan to advance book perusing society.
Depicting books as the fundamental source of learning and leading examination at the advanced education level, they said the new era's connections and affection with books must be promoted.
It is basic for building up a sound and civilized society, they said.
The meeting was sorted out by the Pakistan Library Association as a team with Department of Libraries Government of Punjab and the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
Tending to the closing session, AIOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that they would initiate their libraries at 44-local centres crosswise over Pakistan to advance book perusing propensity.
Different speakers including the affiliation's President Syed Ghayoor Shah and Muhammad Jawwad of the AIOU's Library and Information Science Department got for working out joint methodologies for movement from print to computerized substance and also conservation of the advanced assets.
