The 2016 International DOTA 2 Championship arrived at a conclusion on Saturday and Pakistani kid prodigy Sumail Hassan's group Evil Geniuses completed at third position winning $2 million.
Chinese group Wings won the title bringing home $9.1 million from an aggregate prize pool of $20 million, the biggest in e-sports history.
Begun playing at seven years old, Sumail rose to popularity after an uncommon performance at 2015 DOTA 2 Asian Championship and the 2015 DOTA 2 International Championship driving his group to assert both titles a year ago.
Initially from Karachi, Pakistan Sumail moved to Illinois to play to satisfy his fantasy of turning into an expert DOTA player. Just 17 years of age, he is one of the most youthful expert players in the game.
His group, Evil Geniuses, which held the title of the championship, a year ago, was disqualified from an immediate welcome to the title which implied the group needed to advance through open North American qualifiers and North American local finals to get to the main event.
Evil Geniuses achieved the elimination rounds where it needed to confront the North American group Digital Chaos. The game between the two came down to a very late base-race which Digital Chaos won beating Evil Geniuses 2-1 crushing their fantasy of becoming into the first ever group to win a universal title twice.
