154 PMA Long Course Eligibility Criteria:


Required Marks for FA/FSc/ Equivalent:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 55% marks in FA/FSc or an equivalent qualification.

  • Candidates who have scored 60% marks or above in BA/BSc/ BA/BSc (Hons) and BBA/BPA, with at least 50% marks in FA/FSc, are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course.


Serving Army Soldiers:

  • Serving Army Soldiers need to have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in FA/FSc or an equivalent qualification.


Hope Certificate:

  • Candidates who have been promoted in FSC Part-I and Advance Subsidiary Examination 2023 can also apply with a 'Hope Certificate' indicating a minimum of 55% marks, duly issued by the Head of the Institution.

  • Results for FSA, A Level, and equivalent examinations must be submitted within one week of the announcement of Board Results. Failure to do so will result in the candidate not being considered in the final merit.

  • Applicants who apply with a hope certificate and score less than 55% marks in FSc or grade A-C in Advance Level will be deemed ineligible.


Verification of Marks Sheet:

  • Candidates without original certificates or possessing duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/Intermediate/BA/BSc must obtain a Verification Certificate signed by the Secretary/Controller Examination of the concerned Board/University.

  • 'A' Level Equivalence:

  • Candidates applying in Pakistan with aggregate 60% marks in 'A' Level are eligible without seeking an equivalence certificate from IBCC. However, candidates passing 'A' Level from abroad or in Pakistan with less than three Cs must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBCC).


Age Requirement:

  • For candidates with inter medicate or equivalent the age limit is from 17 to 22, with months relaxation on both upper and lower limit.

  • Applicants with 2-year graduation and serving Pakistan Navy/ air forces personnel has the age limit from 17 to 23 with months relaxation on both upper and lower limit.

  • Candidates who have completed 4 years graduation program (BS/BA- (Hon)/BBA/BPA) has the age limit from 17 to 24 with no age relaxation.

  • Serving Army soldiers has the age limit of 17 to 15 years as on 1st November 2024 with no age relaxation.


Ineligibility:

  • Applicants who have been rejected twice by the Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) will not be considered eligible.

  • Candidates who have failed three times in initial tests (intelligence/academic) will be deemed ineligible for future PMA Long Course.

  • Those who have been tested within a gap of four months (120 days) from their previous appearance in the Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB), unless a waiver is granted by the competent authority, will not be considered.

  • Individuals who have been dismissed, removed, or debarred from Government Service, including the Armed Forces, are ineligible.

  • Candidates who have been convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offence, as determined by the competent military authority, will not be considered.

  • Candidates who have been declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis A & B.

 

Required Documents

  • Candidates will submit following documents along with their application at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs):

  • Original detailed marks sheet of matric/FA/FSC or equivalent (attested)

  • CNIC for 18 years and above or computerized B-Form along with the Guardian's CNIC Card (Father or Mother) for less than 18 years candidates (attested).

  • 3 passport sized colored photographs attested by Principal/ Class-1 Gazetted Officer (front and back).

  • Original as well as one photocopy of "NOT RECOMMENDED" letter by Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) are also required for "Repeater Candidates"

  • Old CNIC Cards of candidates will not be accepted.


Registration and Preliminary Selection Process at PMA:

Candidates have two options for registration; through the Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCS). The process is as follows:


Online Registration through the Internet:

  • Candidates can register on the PMA website. (submit your applications before the deadline: 28th April 2024)

  • The date and time of the test will be communicated via the internet, requiring individuals to have an active email account.

  • Candidates must report on the exact date and time specified for the preliminary test as indicated on the computerized roll number slip.

  • Once the date is assigned, it cannot be changed. It is essential for candidates to have a working knowledge of computers as both registration and tests will be conducted online.

  • TCC Candidates who have applied for PMA Long Course and have undergone ISSB, regardless of the outcome, will also be considered as Repeater Candidates.

  • Candidates applying for PMA L/C for the first time will be considered as Fresh Candidates, even if they have previously appeared in ISSB tests for the Pakistan Navy or Pakistan Air Force.


Written/Intelligence Tests:

  • The written/intelligence tests will comprise multiple-choice questions from subjects including English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat, and General Knowledge. Candidates who pass these tests will proceed to undergo physical/medical tests and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCS).

  • Repeater candidates must report to the respective Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCS) from 3rd to 13th May 2024 for the preliminary test.


Preliminary Selection Process:

A module-based selection process for the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) will be conducted, with a module currently being developed at the Personnel Administration Directorate. The initial test will include the following components with assigned weightages in the module:

  • Written/Intelligence and Writing of English and Urdu Essay

  • Medical Examination

  • Physical Test

  • Interview by the preliminary selection board headed by the Selection and Recruitment Officer (S&RO)


Written/Intelligence Tests:

The written/intelligence tests will consist of multiple-choice questions covering English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat, and General Knowledge. Candidates who pass these tests will proceed to undergo physical/medical tests and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCS).


Physical Tests:

Candidates must meet the following criteria for all physical tests:

  • 1.6 Km Run: Completed within 8 minutes

  • Push Ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes

  • Crunches: 20 repetitions in 2 minutes

  • Pull Ups: 3 repetitions in 2 minutes

  • Ditch Crossing: Cross a ditch measuring 7.4 feet by 7.4 feet and 4 feet deep

Passing all events as mentioned above is mandatory for each candidate. Failing in any one event will result in Physical Test (PT) failure, and the candidate will not be given the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form.


Interview:

Candidates who have cleared the written, medical, and physical tests will undergo a final interview conducted by S&ROS (Selection and Recruitment Officers) and a Psychologist. Before the interview, each candidate must write a 10-line essay in both English and Urdu on a topic provided. Plain paper will be provided to candidates for the essays. The topic of the day will be displayed in the exam hall/room. During the interview, S&RO will take notes on each candidate's performance. Candidates will be assessed out of 20 marks, and those scoring less than 12 marks will be considered failures and will not receive the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form. The interview will cover the following guidelines:

  1. Expression and confidence in English and Urdu.

  2. Knowledge about current affairs.

  3. Understanding of Geography and Pakistan Studies.

  4. Overall presentation.

  5. Participation in extracurricular activities such as sports and hobbies.

  6. Any other relevant aspect deemed appropriate by the panel.

The interview of each candidate will be recorded via CCTV in all AS&RCs and shared with the Personnel Administration Directorate on CDs weekly.


Further Selection Process:

After completing the Physical Test and Interview, Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs) will enter all the necessary details into the system. Then, the Personnel Administration Directorate will select candidates for the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) based on merit. Recommended candidates from ISSB will undergo a detailed medical examination at nearby Combined Military Hospitals. The final selection will be made at General Headquarters based on the candidates' performance. Training Period at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) will be 2 Years.
