In place of the current 4-hour exam, examiners will be given a condensed exam that will take less than two hours to complete, or about half the time. New GRE Test Timings
The largest change to the GRE in 2023 is the exam's duration. Instead of the previous three hours and forty-five minutes, the shortened GRE will now last one hour and fifty-eight minutes.
