In 2010 situation of matric result was almost balanced in Punjab when Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Punjab announced the result of SSC part 2 results. Girls got all the top positions in Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala board while in Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan Boards, all the top positions were taken by boys.
In Lahore board, Rameela Aijaz, Samreen Tahir and Ateeq Ur Rehman were top 3 position holders. According to the results, 208,532 candidates appeared in the exam of which 126,753 managed to clear the annual examination. About 60.79 per cent of the candidates passed who sat for the exams.
In Gujranwala Hira Jameel, Linta Aijaz and Kinza Yousaf stand at the top.
In Faisalabad Saad Ur Rehman, Muhammad Moeez Tahir and Paras Khan were at the top positions. According to the results, 124,242 candidates appeared in the exam of which 80,017 managed to clear the annual examination. About 64.40 per cent of the candidates passed who sat for the exams.
In Sargodha board Muhammad Arsalan, Zain ul Abideen, Khuram Shahzad, Mehreen Faheem and Arsalan Anjum got first third positions. According to the results, 64,538 candidates appeared in the exam of which 41,488 managed to clear the annual examination. About 64.28 per cent of the candidates passed who sat for the exams.
In Rawalpindi board Jawad Hussain, Mehar Khan and Muneeb Ur Rehman Abassi were top 3 position holders. In Multan board Mehar Fatima, Rida Fatima and Maham Rasheed got top positions.
In Bahawalpur board Farwa Liaqat, Abdur Rehman Jawaid and Muhammad Abu Baker stands at the top 3. According to the results, 63,659 candidates appeared in the exam of which 40,376 managed to clear the annual examination. About 63.43 per cent of the candidates passed who sat for the exams.
In Dera Ghazi Khan board Muhammad Zia Saleem, Kinza Sarfraz and Kamran Yousaf were the top position holders. It is significant to say that girls did better than boys in educational field last year in Punjab.
In 2011, BISE Islamabad has announced the result of SSC part 2 in which all the top positions are taken by female students and they get higher passing percentage than male students. According to BISE Islamabad, Total 39140 regular students were appeared in science group matric exams 2011 and 36,241 students declared passed and 2,866 failed. The pass percentage in science group (regular) is 92.6 per cent. In Humanities group total of 47,387 regular students were appeared and 42,729 students declared passed. The pass percentage in humanities group (regular) is 78.67 per cent.
Total 7,989 students were appeared in the science group and 3,823 students have been declared pass. The pass percentage in science group (private) is 47.85 per cent.
A total of 2,765 private students were appeared in humanities group out of which 889 students declared passed while 1,868 students have been declared fail. The pass percentage of students in humanities (private) is 39.39 per cent.
In science group pass percentage of girls is 96.74 per cent as compared to the 89.90 per cent of boys. On the other hand 83.33 is the pass percentage of girls in humanities as compared to the 59.04 percentage of boys.
Pass percentage of private candidate’s boys students is 43.1% while the girls bear the boys in pass percentage and female students pass percentage is 60%. The pass percentage of female students in humanities group is 46.35% and male students is 32.15%.
