Balance is the key strategy to live a happy and prosperous life. From diet to lifestyle the term balance can manage every chore with a steady flow. Many students get burdensome and stressed because they are not able to create a balanced lifestyle with studies and other activities and consequently they get terribly strained out with both mental and physical loads.
You can balance your whole life if you are strategic enough to balance a single day. We can define balance as a situation in which miscellaneous activities are carried out in assigned time with the correct proportions. It means creating harmony in your life.
1. Plan your lifestyle:
If a student really want to enjoy a balanced life style the first thing he needs to do is to compile a life plan or a daily schedule .Leisure time refreshes your soul and makes you more effective at work therefore it is very important to find the right balance between study/work and life.
Students have two targets in general .First is to achieve their career goals and another is to keep themselves happy and satisfied and to content both it is essential to design a life plan .While designing a life plan three things should be given priority.
Objectives: What the student is trying to achieve in their life both in career and in relationships.
Strategies: How the students act to achieve their goals will define the strategy. If you are smart and strategic you can achieve your target without stress.
Relationships: Being connected to your family and friends and spending some quality time with them will give you the real happiness and satisfaction and this will also energize you to progress further.
Plan to adjust from the current situation to an ideal scenario. The main balance should be made between study and social or leisurely activities but keep in mind whatever time you are giving to your studies you should focus completely on your lesson or learning.
When the priorities are set for your objectives, strategies and relationships you can assign time for each segment.
2. Time Management:
Once you plan your activities then it’s time to assign time to them .students are often involved in too many activities and are not aware of the priorities. In contrast there are many students who spend hours in just studying their lessons and don’t take part in any activities. Both extremes can resist you to get your goal therefore it is essential to manage the time.
Assigning time:
Social activities and spending time with friends should be listed in your daily schedule or at least weekend schedule to enjoy some leisure but that doesn’t mean that you spend hours in such activities and ignore your studies. Study –activities time assignment should be in a 70/30 ratio.
You should not overburden yourself with additional learning assignments that prevent you from spending time with your family and to sacrifice any special event.
3. Organization:
Both of the above two strategies for a balanced study/social life will fail if you are not organized .Try to organize everything in your life from activities to belongings .If your routine and things are kept organized you can’t waste time on finding or sorting them thus no time will be wasted and you can easily follow your day or life plan smoothly and can complete each of your daily task in the assigned span.
4. Sacrificing and Refusal:
To manage a balanced lifestyle you have to do sacrifices like if your friends are planning some excursion during your study time you should have courage to refuse their offer because if you waste your study time you will be not able to follow your plan in the given time therefore build a courage to say no to the things or circumstances that interfere in your well-set life plan and this attitude will surely benefit in the future.
Once you are determined to follow these rules you can enjoy a well-balanced lifestyle in your young age.
