Spain ranked number one in the list of most liked and travelled European countries by foreign students. Around 6000 students from 10 countries were surveyed by Go Euro travel platform, 18% of which chose Spain as the best study option and second came UK with 16% students. There are various legal documents required for visa application submission depending upon the time duration of your stay. Spain has an easy visa policy for its foreign students and many scholarships are funded for them in Spanish public universities. For Europeans students a visa and a passport is not a necessary requirement but for non-European students including Pakistani students a visa is required along with other legal documents. Selecting a University/College to Study
Firstly, you have to learn about the fees and requirements of the university or college you want to get admission in. The city and location of the university/college also matters and also detail about your desired course and scholarship options.
Acceptance Letter
When the university/college is finalized submit all their asked documents. After this process, they will issue you an acceptance letter conceding that you have been selected as their student; from there further process will start.
Language proficiency test
Like all other European countries, language proficiency test is a major requirement. Spanish universities and colleges accept IELTS and Cambridge Advanced test for English taught courses. DELE test is accepted for Spanish taught courses.
When to Apply
Immediately after the acceptance in university, consult Spanish embassy in your home country .They will let you know about the required documents and legal process.
Meeting Schedule
The Embassy will call you for a meeting or an interview with all the documents. It is best to submit all your documents 7 to 8 weeks before the start of your classes.
Bank Statement
Bank statement proving you have enough finance to cover all your expenses during your stay in Spain.
Type of Visa
There are different types of visas based on the time duration of your course. If your course will end in 180 days then the visa type will be (D type visa). If your course is more than 180 days then the type of visa will be (student visa D type).
(TIE) or Residence Card for Foreign Students
It is a permit or legal card given by government to foreign students while their stay in Spain. It allows them to work and move freely but it is only valid till the duration of your course. If your stay exceeded more than that then you have to renew your card.
