How to Apply for study in Spain
Spain is one of the most popular countries among students who want to study abroad. The popular reason of choosing Spain as a best study destination is its tranquil and open environment. Students like to travel to Spain also because of its geographical position in Europe. Spanish colleges and universities are very accommodating for its foreign students. Spanish universities and colleges come in all sizes and shapes, there are oldest universities in the world having huge student body and also there are colleges maintaining smaller student body and class sizes. Spain has different climates and areas; you can choose to live near sandy beach or hills. There are plenty of universities and colleges for you to choose from. Only students from EU/EEA or Switzerland don’t need visa to live in Spain. All students from other countries will have to go through visa process.
1-Choosing the right university and course
But before applying you have to choose the university or college and city you want to study in Spain. Search thoroughly about all the universities or colleges and their requirements. After choosing the University or college according to your preference, you have to get acceptance certificate from the authorities. You will have to apply for specific type of visa according your time of stay in Spain.
2-Acceptance Letter
Once you have gotten the confirmation letter from the university, you are now eligible to apply for student visa at Spanish consulate or embassy in your home country.
3-Type of visa
You will have to apply for specific type of visa according your time of stay in Spain.
The 180 days D type visa is for courses of three to six months
Student visa (type D) for courses more than six months
3-Language Requirement
You have to provide your language proficiency for higher studies in Spanish and English in accordance to your chosen course. The main Spanish accepted by Spain is DELE test (Diploma de Español Como Lengua Extranjera).But if you have chosen a course taught in English then you will have to pass IELTS or Cambridge Advanced test.

>Health insurance covering around 30,000 Euros during your period of stay.
>Proof of your financial records to cover all your expenses during your stay.
>Medical certificate.
>Visa application fee is $60 Euro.
>Criminal record certificate (proving that you are not part of any judicial offense in your home country).
5-Applying for work permit
As a foreign student, you are permitted by government for part time job but for that you will have to get work permit. This permit will be valid until your whole duration of stay in Spain. Working more hours than allowed in your work permit will be considered as illegal and you will be treated according to law of Spain
