Dr. Ishrat Husain revolutionized the State Bank of Pakistan.
Overall, he functioned beautifully in it and also outside it. I always admired
him because he is a person who expresses his views openly instead of beating
around the bush. Honestly speaking, I learnt a lot on the finance and economy
side from Dr. Ishrat and definitely wanted him to stay for a third term at the
State Bank.
PERVEZ MUSHARRAF, Former President of Pakistan. The greatest quality that I found in Dr. Ishrat Husain is
that he is an institution builder. I would put him amongst my finest
countrymen, both in competence and in loyalty. I have never seen him do
anything which would bring him personal gain in terms of position or career
advantage. He would only do things what he thought would benefit Pakistan.
