How It Works: Answer icons on book pages are printed with conductive ink that triggers a "right" or "wrong" audio response from the pen. Readers read the informational paragraph and view photographs on each spread, then use the pen to touch an answer icon for each question. The pen has three buttons: volume up, volume down, and a "Try Me" intro button active on the retail shelf. The lens on the pen lights up to indicate whether or not a question has been answered correctly (gold for positive, red for negative). Pen audio can be turned down to mute, in which case the light acts as sole indicator of right or wrong response.
