Scholarship value

The cost is between €3,000 and €22,000 for a year. If you're looking at a two-year program, check out the details about those below.

Just a heads up: This scholarship is for covering study-related expenses. It's up to you to decide how to use the money. We won't be paying any costs, like tuition fees, directly for you.

Two-year study programme

If you're in a two-year study program, you can get an extra scholarship for the second year that's the same amount as what you received for the first year. But you will need to meet certain requirements to keep it for the second year.

To qualify, you need to have:

  • An average grade of 7 out of 10 by the end of the third quarter of your first year
  • At least 50% of the European Credits by the end of the third quarter of your first year

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the UTS, you need to meet these requirements:

  • Non-EU/EEA Nationality: You must be a citizen from a country that isn’t in the EU or EEA. 
  • Conditional Admission: You should have gotten provisional admission to one of the eligible Master’s programs at the University of Twente that starts in September 2025.
  • No Previous UT Graduate Degree: You shouldn't have already graduated from a UT graduate program.
  • Visa Requirements: You must satisfy the Dutch visa conditions if they apply to you.
  • English Language Proficiency: You need an English score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS or 90 on the TOEFL iBT, with no less than 20 on the speaking part.
  • Top Academic Performance: You should be in the top 5-10% of your class.
  • No Dutch Study Loan: You can't be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
