Scholarship Benefits

If you get the Human Rights Scholarship, here's what you'll receive:

  • Living Allowance: You’ll get $43,500 a year (based on 2025 rates), paid out for a maximum of 2 years if you're a Master's student, or up to 3.5 years for Doctoral students. This also comes with some paid sick leave, maternity leave, and leave for parenting.
  • Full Fee Offset: This will cover your tuition fees for up to 2 years for Master’s students or up to 4 years for Doctoral students.
  • Relocation Grant: If you're moving from another state or territory in Australia, you'll get $2,000. If you're coming from overseas, it’s $3,000.
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): You will get a Single Membership to cover health needs for international students on a student visa.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this scholarship, you need to:

  • Have submitted an application and meet the entry requirements for a Master’s or Doctorate by research degree starting this year.
  • Plan to do graduate research in Human Rights.
  • Not have already completed a research qualification at the same level or higher than the course you're applying for.
  • Not have received a graduate research scholarship before.
