Introduction

Turkey Burslari is the world's top most, comprehensive scholarship program that covers all the expenses of a student from tuition fees to living.  This scholarship program makes education possible in prestigious Turkish universities for all international brilliant students who cannot afford education expenses. Aimed at fostering cultural exchange, these scholarships enable recipients to pursue studies in diverse fields and experience Turkey's rich cultural heritage.

Republic of Turkey is providing this scholarship funding for higher education for international students. The other aim of this funding is to make mutual understanding with other countries by providing financial support for every study field. 40,000 scholarship applications number has turned into 165,000 since the program started in 2012 to 2024 respectively from 178 abroad countries.

What Are the Application And Eligibility Criteria For Turkish Scholarship?

 Academic Criteria

     For undergraduate scholarships: minimum 70% marks

     Masters and PhD: 75% marks

     Medicine and dentistry: 90% marks

 Age Criteria

     Undergraduate: under 21 years of age

     For master’s program: under the age of 30

     For PhD programs: applicants must be under the age of 35

     For research base scholarship: one must be under the age of 45

     Pakistani citizens

     Who graduated or will graduate by the end of August of the current year

     Researchers and students can apply

Application Calendar For Turkish Scholarship

Turkey Burslari scholarship applications are open throughout the year for researchers.

 General applications

     Open from 10th January to 20th February each year

 Research application period

     1st period: January to March

     2nd round: April- June

     3rd round: July to September

     4th period: October to December

Application Process For Turkey Burslari Scholarship

Students can submit online applications at the application portal through the following steps

  • Go to the Turkey scholarship application system

  • Create your personal account there

  • Upload all required documents (listed below along with extracurricular certificates)

  • List courses and universities you are interested in

  • Write a letter of intent (containing your preferences, and future goals) and upload it to the portal

  • After a detailed review and confirmation submit your online application

Documents Required For Turkiey Burslari Scholarship Application 

The following documents are required to upload on the online portal

  • Identity card

  • Recent photograph

  • National exam result (if any)

  • Additional certificates

  • Academic transcripts

  • International exam results (some Turkish universities accept the GRE, GMAT, or SAT exam)

  • IELTS /TOFEL test results (if required by the selected university)

  • PhD applicants will send a research proposal with a topic and example

Assessment Criteria For Turkish Burslari Scholarship

Though the selection process is based on academic, social and motivational record of the student but the applications are assessed in the following way

Basic Assessment

Applicants are evaluated based on their

  • Academic achievements

  • Educational transcripts

  • Age for selected study level

Experts Evaluation

Students are evaluated by the experts’ committee on the following performances after which the candidate’s name forwarded to the interview list

  • Academic records

  • Qualification status

  • Academic interests

  • Career goals

  • Letter of intent

  • Social activities

Tests And Interview

 For undergraduate admissions

A quantitative test based on 30 questions (mathematics, geometry, and general knowledge) is taken prior to the interview of the candidate. Within 60 minutes, the applicant has to complete the 30 questions which need an explanation of each. All questions in the test will be asked in English or Turkish language depending upon the language student selected for the study program. Test conducted for the following undergraduate fields

  • Health Sciences

  • Science and Engineering

  • Social sciences

Interview

A face-to-face interview will be conducted on the same day as the test. The interview session with the below-described formatting lasts 15- 30 mins  

  • Welcome and entrance

  • Documents evaluation

  • Intent/ purpose of the candidate for study

  • Academic-based questions and future career goals

  • Closing and candidates questions to interview committee if any

Note: It is compulsory for the candidate to bring the original documents with him/her at the time of the interview

Final Assessment            

After the interview is conducted, the final assessment of the candidate makes him/her eligible or ineligible for the Turkish scholarship. The selection committee creates selected candidates list who will receive Turkish scholarships.

Deadline To Apply For Turkish Scholarships

Students can apply for undergraduate, master, PhD, and research scholarships from 10th January to 20th February each year.
