The University of Nottingham is inviting qualified graduates to apply for the PhD Studentships with the Welding Institute (TWI) in Laser-Assisted Cold Spray for Structural Repairs. The studentship will be awarded in the UK for the academic year 2022-2023. The goal of the proposed PhD project is to investigate the effect of laser assistance on cold spray deposition behavior in high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloys. The University of Nottingham will provide the selected candidates full UK/Home university tuition fees and a tax-free stipend up to £20 k per annum for the duration of the project.
