If you're into sustainability, the circular economy, and energy solutions, listen up! The Circular Process Engineering (CPE) Laboratory at Dalhousie University in Canada is looking for two PhD students for fully funded positions starting in Fall 2025.

This is a great chance for graduate students who want to get involved in some cool research on battery recycling and new ideas in sustainable materials.

About the Project

The chosen PhD candidates will work on a project that focuses on recycling old sodium-ion batteries and turning them into useful materials for the environment and industry.

Here are some main areas they'll be looking at:

  • Recovering and processing battery materials, like hard carbon anodes and different metal cathodes.
  • Creating advanced materials, such as adsorbents and catalysts.
  • Analyzing costs and environmental effects to see how practical and eco-friendly the processes are.

This research brings together chemical and environmental engineering, materials science, and chemistry, providing a well-rounded and meaningful doctoral experience.
