EPFL introduces preparatory program for migrants and refugees
EPFL is launching a new version of the CMS preparatory year, a program designed specifically for migrants and refugees. Called CMS-3, it will span three semesters and include classes to help participants learn French. The first cohort will begin in February.
Around 20 students will be admitted into the CMS-3 program each year. Applicants must have either filed for or been granted asylum in Switzerland and have a level of French that’s below B2. While applicants do need to have a high-school level understanding of mathematics, they aren’t required to hold a high-school diploma (or equivalent).
The Swiss Government Excellence scholarships amount varies with the level of study as Research, PhD, Fine Arts students will receive 1’920- Swiss Francs per month and Postdoctoral students will receive a sum of 3’500.- Swiss Francs per month.
Health insurance is provided.
Travel expenses are covered.
Study tours to various European regions and free dinner all sponsored by the Swiss government.
The scholarship winners will be provided with other living allowances and won’t be required to pay any kind of course fee.

To qualify for the scholarship, international students must meet specific criteria: non-Swiss BSc students must have successfully passed all parts of their first-year exams, while non-Swiss MSc students without an ETH-BSc degree are required to have completed a minimum of 40 KP in their preceding master’s study year.
International students at ETH should seek first in their home country for financial support or scholarships to study at ETH.
Bachelorstudents are eligible after passing successfully the first year examination in all parts.

Eligibility for the ECTRIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Exchange Programme:
Scientists and physicians who hold or are candidates for an MD, Ph.D., ScD or equivalent professional degree are eligible.
Candidates must have received their advanced degree(s) prior to initiation of the fellowship.
At the time of application, fellows should have no more than one year of prior postdoctoral training at the same host institution/mentor. More senior candidates may have no more than 5 years total of postdoctoral experience beyond their final degree (Ph.D., MD, ScD or equivalent) at the time of application.

Currently enrolled in a university in biology, biophysics, chemistry, bio-engineering, bio-informatics, quantitative biology, genetics courses, or other life sciences-related programs
have a minimum GPA equivalent to a 3.75/4.0 grade or higher.
have completed at least two years of undergraduate or first year of a master’s degree before the start of the program.
Eligibility criteria for IBSA Foundation Fellowship 2023:
Candidates must be under 40 years old before the deadline for submitting their suggestions, regardless of country.
A degree in medicine, biology, pharmacy, biotechnology, or bioengineering is a must. PhD candidates, post-docs, and residents are all welcome. You cannot apply for permanent posts like professorships.
