VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POST OF VICE CHANCELLOR

The Government of Punjab, Higher Education Department, is seeking highly accomplished, qualified, and motivated professionals for the position of Vice Chancellor in the following Public Sector University:

Essential Requirements

The Vice Chancellor shall be the principal executive and academic officer of the university, promoting teaching, research, and publications while ensuring excellent administration and efficiency. The applicant must:

  1. Age:

    • Not be more than sixty-five (65) years of age on the last date fixed for the submission of applications.

  2. Education:

    • Hold a PhD degree from an HEC-recognized or UNESCO-listed institution.

  3. Experience:

    • Have experience in a senior academic, research, or management leadership position.

  4. Research:

    • Possess a distinguished research and publications record.

  5. NOC:

    • Submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer before the interview.

Terms of Appointment & Salary

  • The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed for a term of four years and serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor.

  • The incumbent will be entitled to the maximum salary of a Professor on the Tenure Track System, as approved by the Government.

  1. Certified copies of:

    • CV/educational certificates/degrees/diplomas.

    • Teaching and administrative experience certificates (Experience Certificates must be issued by the concerned Registrar/Admin Office/HR Office; notifications of postings will not be accepted).

    • HEC-recognized research publications (including certified copies of the first page and index of recognized journals).

  2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV):

    • Highlighting all elements of eligibility criteria and personal attributes.

    • Starting with SSC/O-Level details (grades, institute/college, and university).

  3. Three recent passport-sized photographs.

  4. Seven extra copies of the filled-in prescribed proforma must accompany the main application.

  • The deadline for submission is 26-12-2024, before the closing of office hours.

  • Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

Interview Guidelines

  • All shortlisted applicants must appear for an interview in person.

  • Video link interviews (e.g., Skype/WhatsApp) will only be allowed for candidates currently employed abroad.

  • Each eligible candidate (for one or more posts of Vice Chancellor) will be interviewed only once by the respective Search Committee to determine suitability for each university.
