POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: VICE CHANCELLOR

The Government of the Punjab, through its Higher Education Department, invites applications from highly accomplished, motivated, and qualified professionals for the prestigious position of Vice Chancellor at the following public sector university:

🔹 Essential Requirements

The Vice Chancellor shall serve as the principal executive and academic officer of the university, responsible for:

  • Promoting excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly publications.

  • Ensuring efficient administration and high academic standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: Not more than 65 years on the last date of application submission.

  • Academic Qualification: Possession of a PhD degree from an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or listed by UNESCO.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a senior academic, research, or management leadership role.

  • Research Contribution: A distinguished record of research and publications.

  • Employer’s NOC: Submission of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from current employer is mandatory before the interview.

🔹 Terms of Appointment & Remuneration

  • Tenure: The Vice Chancellor will be appointed for a four-year term, serving at the pleasure of the Chancellor.

  • Salary Package: The appointed individual will be entitled to the maximum salary of a Professor under the Tenure Track System (TTS) as approved by the Government.

🔹 Application Procedure

  1. Certified Copies of:

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Educational Certificates/Degrees/Diplomas

  2. Experience Certificates:

    • Clearly stating certified teaching and administrative experience

    • Issued by the Registrar/HR/Admin Office (Postings/Notifications will not be accepted)

  3. Research Publications:

    • List of HEC-recognized publications

    • Certified copies of the first page and journal index

  4. Detailed Curriculum Vitae:

    • Clearly highlighting eligibility criteria, personal attributes

    • Must start with SSC/O-Level details: grades, institute/college name, and awarding university

  5. Photographs:

    • Three recent passport-sized photographs

Note:

  • Submit seven additional copies of the filled-in prescribed proforma along with the main application.

  • Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

  • Shortlisted candidates must appear for an in-person interview.

  • Online interviews (Skype/WhatsApp) will only be permitted for candidates currently employed abroad.
