Position Announcement: Vice Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Peshawar
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa invites applications for the role of Vice Chancellor at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar. The Higher Education, Archives & Libraries Department seeks candidates with exceptional leadership qualities, integrity, and an intellectual vision that aligns with the university’s academic goals. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Academic Qualification: A PhD in Agriculture or a closely related field.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 15 years of teaching or research experience in a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university or postgraduate institution. Professional experience within a relevant field at a national or international organization is also acceptable.
- Research Publications: A strong record of research publications, meeting the criteria for professorship. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 peer-reviewed, HEC-recognized research publications.
- Administrative Experience: At least 5 years of experience in administration or postdoctoral research in higher education.
- Research Projects: Proven execution of at least one major research project.
- International Exposure: Experience working with international organizations or attending international workshops, seminars, or conferences.
- Event Organization: Experience in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences within Pakistan on international standards in higher education.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Desirable Experience, Skills, and Competencies
Additional skills and competencies are outlined in Schedule-II (Parts B & C) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act, 2012, and may be considered by the Academic Search Committee.
Application Procedure
- How to Apply: Eligible candidates should submit an application form available on the Higher Education Department website (www.hed.gkp.pk).
- Shortlisting & Interviews: The Academic Search Committee will shortlist eligible candidates and conduct interviews. A panel of three candidates will be recommended to the Provincial Government, which will then select one candidate for final approval by the Chancellor.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be under 62 years of age as of the application deadline.
- Position Variability: The Higher Education Department reserves the right to adjust the number of vacancies.

All applications must be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Secretary (Universities-I), Higher Education, Archives & Libraries Department, Civil Secretariat, Peshawar, by 29 November 2024 by close of business hours. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
