Vacancy Announcement for the Post of Vice Chancellor

The Government of Punjab, Higher Education Department invites applications from highly accomplished, qualified, and motivated professionals for the position of Vice Chancellor at the following Public Sector University:

1. Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Essential Requirements

The Vice Chancellor will serve as the principal executive and academic officer of the university. The responsibilities include promoting teaching, research, publications, and ensuring efficient administration and excellence in university operations. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Age Limit:

   • Must not exceed 65 years of age as of the last date for submission of applications.

2. Educational Qualification:

   • A PhD degree from an HEC-recognized or UNESCO-listed institution.

3. Professional Experience:

   • Senior-level academic, research, or management leadership experience.

4. Research and Publications:

   • A distinguished record of research and publications.

5. Additional Requirements:

   • Submission of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer before the interview.

Terms of Appointment & Salary

• Appointment Duration:

  • The Vice Chancellor will be appointed for a term of four years and serve at the discretion of the Chancellor.

• Salary:

  • The appointee will receive a salary equivalent to that of a Professor on the Tenure Track System, as approved by the Government.

2. Experience Certificates:

3. Research Publications:

   • List of HEC-recognized research publications, along with certified copies of the first page and index of recognized journals.

4. Curriculum Vitae (CV):

   • A detailed CV highlighting eligibility criteria and personal attributes. Start with academic qualifications, grades, and institutions attended, beginning with SSC/O Level.

5. Photographs:

   • Three recent passport-sized photographs.

6. Proforma Copies:

   • Seven additional copies of the filled proforma must accompany the main application.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an in-person interview. Interviews via video conferencing (e.g., Skype, WhatsApp) will not be permitted, except for candidates currently employed abroad.

• Interview for Multiple Posts:

  • Each eligible candidate applying for one or more posts of Vice Chancellor will be interviewed only once by the respective Search Committee to determine their suitability for each university.
