The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is established as an autonomous body under Chartered Accountants Ordinance 1961 (the Ordinance). SECRETARY ICAP - KARACHI
THE ROLE: The Secretary is the administrative head of the Institute and reports to the Council through the President. The Secretary is responsible for effective deployment of the Institute's resources to ensure operational excellence and provide leadership to meet the objectives of the Institute.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide quality and well-researched input to the Council for policy-making and development of the strategic plan.
- Implement various initiatives as per the strategic plan approved by the Council.
- Devise business plans, both short and long-term, periodic budgets. and optimize resource allocation.
- Drive the creation of a transparent, collaborative, and performance-based culture within the Institute in line with best industry practices.
- Administer as Head of Institute and responsible for overall supervision of the affairs of the Institute.
- Perform role as a Secretary to the Council, Executive Committee, and Investigation Committee of the Institute
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Fellow member of ICAP or other international CA bodies in good standing.
- Candidates applying should not be more than 55 Years of age. He / She must have at least 15 Years of senior management experience in a large entity or a practicing firm.
- Should have knowledge & experience of strategy formulation and successful implementation.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large teams operating at multiple locations.
- Exposure of maintaining relationships with National and International Regulatory Bodies is preferable.
- The Candidate must possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
HEAD OF NORTHERN REGION - LAHORE
THE ROLE: The position will be responsible to oversee the operations of the Northern Region and achieving the strategic and operational objectives of the Institute. The position will report to the Secretary of the Institute and will be a member of the Institute's Senior Leadership Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent ICAP at various Government & Non-Government forums in the Northern Region.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including, but not limited to ICAP members in the corporate sector. members in practice, education partners, government departments, and Ministries particularly, in the Northern Region.
- Provide strategic and administrative support to all the functions carried out in ICAP offices spread across the territories of the Northern Region including but not limited to Examination. Education & Training, Members' Affairs, Legal & Corporate. Finance, Information Technology, and others.
- Lead the administrative heads of all offices in the Northern Region and be responsible for internal controls, compliance. implementation of ICAP policies and procedures, upkeep, and maintenance of ICAP offices across the region.
- Provide strategic and administrative oversight of events and Seminars organized by ICAP in the Northern Region.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with minimum 10 years of experience or an MBA / other Post-Graduate Qualification with 15 years of relevant experience including minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
- Demonstrated leadership competency in strategic planning and operational management skills.
- Ability in decision-making, problem-solving along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
DIRECTOR EDUCATION & TRAINING - KARACHI
THE ROLE: This position will be responsible to provide strategic oversight of the Department, identify gaps, develop and supervise the implementation of new education policies with international standards and good practice. The candidate will be a member of the Institute's Senior Leadership Team. The position will report to Senior Director Education & Training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the education and training team to ensure that ICAP's education policies are aligned with best practices, the expectations of employers and clients, and international standards.
- Analyze best practices implemented by leading institutes and Education Standards and provide recommendations for modifications to the syllabus based on aforementioned analysis.
- Formulate required criteria for recognition of Universities and RAETs.
- Provide strategy and meaningful contribution to the regular review of the education scheme.
- Oversee the identification, evaluation, and selection of developers for study support material. Administer the assessment of study support material by subject specialists and finalize after review of their recommendations.
- Maintain effective liaison with universities. RAETs and Training Organizations in the implementation of new education scheme and obtain their feedback on the same.
- Provide support and assist the education & training team to plan and prioritize set objectives
- Provide adequate support to the team for continuous improvement in their performance and results.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- The candidate should be a Chartered Accountant / Master's degree holder with education related senior level experience of minirnum 10 years, inclusive of 5 years at the senior management level.
- Candidates must have exposure of handling education-related matters and experience of working as an academician with proven ability to lead education programs.
- He / She should have extensive hands on and strategic level experience, good team management skills with the ability to set and communicate individual & department objectives and manage change.
DIRECTOR MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS - LAHORE
THE ROLE: The position will be responsible to assist in developing and implementing ICAP's marketing & communication strategy. The candidate will be a member of the Institute's Senior Leadership Team. The position will report to Director Marketing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing a strategic marketing plan, addressing critical issues relating to marketing and communication including campaigns, events, digital & social media marketing, and public relations.
- Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and marketing trends. Facilitate in instituting and implementing strategies that strengthen the ICAP brand, subsequently impacting growth and promotion of the profession in a positive manner.
- Provide support in managing the creative design of ICAP's marketing and communication activities and materials.
- Lead the conduct of counseling sessions and ensure the visible presence of ICAP at the educational expo and other opportunities.
- Assist in the development of short and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing /communication/public & media relations activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry leaders. media advertising agencies, vendors, and suppliers. ensuring contracts and service
levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial budgets to ensure that ongoing services are in-line with agreed contracts.
- Support and assist the marketing & communication team, plan and prioritize. set objectives, and provide support for continuous improvement in their performance and results.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- The candidate should be a Master degree holder majoring in Marketing with HEC recognized university or a reputed foreign university with minimum 10 years of experience.
- He/she should have extensive hands on and strategic level experience in marketing, media management and public relations, with 5 years at senior management level.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to set and communicate vision and strategy. Implement plans and manage change.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS - KARACHI

DEPUTY DIRECTOR LEGAL - KARACHI
THE ROLE: This position is responsible to lead and provide direction on legal matters and regulatory issues. The candidate will be a member of the Institute's Senior Leadership Team. The position will report to the Secretary of the Institute.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as business partner and provide proactive and effective solutions for risk management. Also ensure designing and implementation of strategies in compliance with internal and external regulatory framework.
- Supervise the legal matters of the Institute including maintaining liaison with legal advisors regarding smooth handling of the legal cases.
- Provide support in keeping effective and efficient liaisons with regulatory bodies.
- Provide legal support and guidance to various departments on legal issues.
- Lead and represent the Institute and appear before Courts / concerned authorities.
- Oversee the drafting and legal vetting of agreements. contracts. MOUs, and other legal documents.
- Facilitate Investigation Department on legal issues related to the investigation proceeding.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- The candidate should be a law graduate, preferably LLM from a well-reputed law school. Possession of foreign law degree will be an added advantage.
- Candidate should have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience including at least 5 years with a renowned law firm.
- Practical knowledge of corporate laws and legal affairs, strong analytical skills. good understanding of legal language, excellent drafting/communication and administrative skills.
