Social Support for Afghan Refugees and Host Communities (SSARC)

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit
(GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development:

Pakistan has one of the largest refugee populations. Most of the Afghan refugees live in
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), an economically weak province, bordering Afghanistan. High percentage of vulnerable groups among refugees and host communities are exposed to various stress factors' uncertainties, lack of perspective/livelihoods and violence. These factors have a direct impact on the social well-being of the individuals and communities.

"Social Support for Afghan Refugees and host Communities (SSARC)" programme, aims to provide or/and strengthen the capacity of relevant actors to deal with social needs of both target groups. Furthermore, the programme will activate and strengthen context and gender-sensitive social support and encourage a spirit of community self-help the programme will be implemented mainly in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). In this context. GIZ is looking for a professional for:

Duty Station: Peshawar

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.A./Master/MSc in an area related to the project objectives with a focus on a relevant field (psychology, social work, youth empowerment) in social science or similar field
  • At least three (3) years working at community level and with young refugees, vulnerable groups in general
  • At least three to five (3 to 5) years of experience in the field of organising activities with young people based on their needs and expectations
  • At least three (3) years working in the field psychosocial support (PSS)
  • Experience in networking with non-governmental organisations. Government agencies, universities and professional associations
