Sindh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Karachi, invites applications from dynamic and qualified professionals for the following positions at the School of Nursing (SON).

1. PROFESSOR

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • PhD in Nursing / Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • 05-10 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels.
    • Experience in supervising master's level research is essential.
    • Experience in a senior academic-administrative role is required.
  • Publications:
    • Minimum 08 publications in HEC-recognized Nursing/Health Sciences journals.
    • At least three should be as first author, with at least one publication in the last two years.

2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • PhD in Nursing / Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • Teaching and clinical experience at undergraduate and graduate levels is essential.
    • Experience in an academic-administrative role is desired.
  • Publications:
    • Minimum 05 publications in HEC-recognized Nursing/Health Sciences journals.
    • At least one publication as first author in the last two years.

3. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • PhD in Nursing / Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • Teaching and clinical experience at the undergraduate level is essential.
  • Publications:
    • Minimum 03 publications in HEC-recognized Nursing/Health Sciences journals.
    • At least one publication as first author in the last two years.
  • Preference:
    • Candidates with PhD/MSN will be given preference.

4. SENIOR LECTURER

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • For MSN-qualified candidates:
      • 02 years of teaching experience.
      • 02 years of clinical experience.
    • For Post-RN BSN/BSN-qualified candidates:
      • 04 years of teaching experience.
      • 05 years of clinical experience.
  • Publications:
    • Minimum 01 publication in HEC-recognized Nursing/Health Sciences journals.
    • At least one publication as first author in the last two years.

5. NURSING INSTRUCTOR / LECTURER

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 04 years of clinical experience.
    • 01 year of teaching experience.

6. CLINICAL NURSING INSTRUCTOR / LECTURER

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing Post-RN (BSN-PRN).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 05 years of teaching experience.
    • 02 years of clinical experience.

Important Notes:

✅ Nursing positions require a valid PNC license.
✅ Academic qualifications must be from HEC-recognized universities/degree-awarding institutes.
