Vacancy Announcement

The Institute of Regional Studies, an autonomous, not-for-profit think tank based in Islamabad, is inviting applications for the following positions on open merit. Interested candidates should submit detailed CVs, along with the necessary documentation, by 22 October 2024.

1. Research Officer (BPS-18)

  • Number of Positions: 2
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • MPhil in Social Sciences from a reputable university (preferably in International Relations, Defence and Strategic Studies, Economics, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, or IT).
    • 5 years of research experience.
    • At least five research papers published in reputable national or international research journals.
  • Age Limit: Must not exceed 40 years of age by 22 October 2024.
  • Contract Duration:
    • 1 position: Initially for one year, likely extendable.
    • 1 position: Initially for six months, likely extendable.

2. Assistant Research Officer (BPS-17)

  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • MPhil or Master's in Social Sciences from a reputable university (preferably in International Relations, Defence and Strategic Studies, Economics, Political Science, or Peace and Conflict Studies).
  • Age Limit: Must not exceed 35 years of age by 22 October 2024.
  • Contract Duration: Initially for six months, extendable.
