Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) – Career Opportunities

Position: Registrar (BPS-20) - Tenured Post

  • Maximum Age: 55 Years
  • Qualification/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (awarded after 16 years of education) from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university or institution.
    • Minimum 17 years of experience in administration, preferably in government or educational institutions/universities.
    • At least 5 years of experience as the head of a department in BPS-20 or equivalent.
    • Appointment: The Registrar is a full-time officer, appointed by the Syndicate, for an initial tenure of three years, extendable based on the Syndicate’s decision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the University Act, Statutes, Regulations, decisions by Senate & Syndicate, government notifications, court orders, etc., within the required time.
  • Act as the custodian of the university’s common seal and oversee the monitoring and supervision of university affairs, in coordination with all functional departments.
  • Manage all administrative, academic, security, and law & order matters of the university.
  • Serve as Secretary for statutory bodies such as the Senate, Syndicate, and Academic Council.
  • Oversee the conduct of elections to the Senate and Syndicate.
