Pakistan institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences (MASI is a federally chartered degree awarding educational institution offering under-graduate and post-graduate programs in various disciplines of science & engineering, PlEAS, ranked as the No. 1 University of Pakistan {QS Rankings Asia, 2014, 2015) and No 1 Engineering University (HEC Rankings, 2006, 2010 & 2013). Applications are invited from dynamic, energetic and outstanding candidates for appointment as Rector PlEAS, Islamabad having the following attributes

  • Well versed with the functions and management of an institution of higher learning with on understanding of strategic planning, broad range of research and human resource development,
  • Ability and experience of academic-industry linkage, headed / pioneered higher seats of learning and be aware of national curriculum & higher education practice.
  • Ability and experience of resource mobilization, experience of Academic Administration & Financial Management.
  • Ability to represent the university effectively & commitment to transparent efficient governance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & leadership skills.

Major Responsibilities

The Rector, as the academic and administrative head of PlEAS, will provide dynamic
leadership in planning, managing and realization of excellence in education, research and development activities.

Qualification & Experience

  • Preferably PhD in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
  • More than 20 years of experience in Academic and Research activities with at least 5 years in Higher Education Management ro1e(0 preferably in BPS-21/SPS-12 or equivalent.

Preferably first class academic career, however, one second division may be allowed except in final degree.

  • Preferably, fifteen research publications with at lean five publications in the lost five years In HEC recognized journals.
 

Terms and Conditions

  • Upper age limit 15 60 years, which may be relaxed in outstanding/deserving cases,
  • The appointment shall be on contract basis for on initial term of three years. The contract will be extendable subject to performance.
