Position Announcement: RECTOR

The Virtual University (VU), a pioneer in modern education across Pakistan, utilizes state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to provide high-quality education nationwide. As a public-sector university established by the Federal Government, VU ensures seamless education delivery through an advanced digital infrastructure.

Position Overview

Virtual University is seeking a dynamic and accomplished professional to serve as Rector, as defined under the VU Ordinance. This is a four-year term appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead VU towards international academic recognition.

  • Attract top-tier faculty, professionals, and students.

  • Develop and nurture global academic and industry partnerships.

  • Strategically plan for institutional growth and transformation.

  • Foster innovation in digital learning and academic practices.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must:

  • Hold a Ph.D. from an HEC-recognized institution.

  • Have at least 10 years of full-time post-PhD experience in academics, research, and administration.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience must be exclusively in academic administration.

  • Be less than 65 years of age on the last date of application (May 12, 2025).

Salary Package

The appointee will receive the Vice Chancellor/Rector Salary Package, as approved by the Chancellor.
