Expression of Interest: Project Director Recruitment

The Irrigation Department of the Government of Sindh is seeking a qualified Project Director to lead the Klari Baghar Feeder and Manchar Lake Improvement Project, part of the larger Kalri Baghar Feeder KTI project, approved by the Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan. The project is vital for water resource management and enhancing irrigation infrastructure, and the department requires leadership to ensure its effective implementation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Irrigation & Hydraulics, Water Resources Engineering, or Water Management from an HEC-recognized university. Candidates with a degree in Project Management will also be considered.
  • Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience, particularly in large irrigation and hydropower projects' design, implementation, and management. At least five years should be at the mid-management level.
  • Civil Servants: Civil servants are eligible to apply for this position. If selected, they will be required to obtain a three-year leave from their existing position.
  • Skills:
    • Strong financial, technical, procurement, and project management abilities.
    • Proficiency in IT and strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Urdu.

Employment Terms:

The Project Director will be responsible for implementing the project in accordance with government guidelines, reporting directly to the Secretary of Irrigation, Government of Sindh.

  • Contract: The initial contract will be for two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
  • Salary: An attractive package will be offered as per Government of Sindh policies.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 63 years on the closing date for applications.
  • Domicile: The candidate must be a domicile holder of Sindh province.
