Prime Minister's Initiative for Capacity Building of 1,000 Agricultural Graduates in China

Overview:

In a bid to enhance Pakistan's agricultural sector, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has launched a program aimed at sending 1,000 agricultural graduates to China for specialized training. Following the initial call for applications published on November 19, 2024, the response was lower than expected, prompting a re-advertisement. This initiative seeks to provide exposure to China's advanced agricultural techniques and practices.

Training Program Details:

  • Training Duration: 3 to 6 months
  • Training Implementation: Phased approach
  • Training Areas:
    The training will focus on the following nine priority areas:
    1. Farm Mechanization
    2. Crop Breeding and Genomics (including cotton, hybrid rice, vegetables, pulses, wheat, and alfalfa seeds)
    3. High-Level Technology (including drones, IoT, AI, seed production, and processing technologies)
    4. Livestock Disease Surveillance
    5. Livestock Breeding and Genomics
    6. Aquaculture (especially shrimp production and processing)
    7. High-Efficiency Irrigation Systems
    8. Fruit and Vegetable Processing

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Must have a degree in agriculture (BS/BSc Hons) with specialization in one of the priority areas.
    • A minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or the first division is required.
    • MS/MPhil or Ph.D. degrees will be given additional points, provided the CGPA is 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  2. Age Limit: Applicants should be under 35 years of age as of the closing date (5th February 2025).

  3. Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience in one of the nine priority areas.

  4. Skills: Proficiency in the English language and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  5. Selection: If there are more applicants than available slots, candidates will be ranked based on CGPA/marks.

General Instructions:

  • Funding: The program is fully funded by the Government of Pakistan.

  • Application:

    • Applications must be submitted online via the portal: https://chinatraining.fsp.gov.pk/.
    • Candidates must upload their CV, academic credentials, transcripts, degrees, and a passport image (bio page) by the closing date (12:00 midnight PST).
    • Applicants from the public sector need to provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective departments if selected.
    • Those who have previously applied under the November 19, 2024, advertisement do not need to reapply.
  • Post-Training Commitment:

    • Selected candidates will be required to submit HEC-attested copies of their credentials and sign a bond to return to Pakistan and serve as master trainers after completing the training.
    • Family members will not be allowed to accompany the trainees.
  • Passport Requirement: Applicants should have a passport valid for at least one year beyond the application deadline.
