Job Opportunity: Head of Human Resources

Peoples Steel Mills Limited, Karachi – Pakistan’s premier alloy and special steel manufacturing facility – is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Head of HR.

The ideal candidate should possess a deep passion for Human Resources and demonstrate expertise in modern HR practices to lead the development and transformation of the HR department. The selected individual will work closely with senior leadership to design and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HR department, driving organizational change and development.

  • Align HR strategies with business objectives to foster a performance-oriented culture.

  • Manage all core HR functions including recruitment, training, compensation & benefits, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and industry standards.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture.

  • Utilize HR software and data analytics to support strategic decision-making.

  • Act as a key liaison between senior management and the wider workforce.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education:
    MBA in Human Resource Management from a reputable HEC-recognized institution.
    Professional certifications such as SHRM-SP or SPHRi will be preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in HR, specifically within the manufacturing sector (Steel, Auto, or Cement preferred).

    • At least 5 years in a senior leadership or equivalent Head of HR role.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Proven success in implementing strategic HR initiatives.

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and business dynamics.

    • Deep knowledge of Industrial Relations (IR) and labor law compliance.

    • Culture-sensitive with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and confidentiality.

    • Proficient in HR software and analytics for data-driven HR solutions.

  • Age Limit:
    Must not exceed 48 years as of the last application date.


Additional Information:

  • This is a contractual position for three (03) years, extendable with mutual agreement.

  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
