A Government Organization is seeking qualified and experienced candidates to be appointed on a contract basis for the following position:

Post: Optical Transport Network (OTN) System Engineer

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in OTN/DWDM Network Operations.
  • Oversee O&M (Operations & Maintenance) of the OTN system.

Number of Posts: 1

Qualifications:

  • BE/BS/MSc in Electrical Telecom/Computer from an HEC recognized university or equivalent.

Maximum Age: 50 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and PAT (Pre-Acceptance Testing) of the OTN/DWDM network.
  • Offer engineering support during the installation of network elements.
  • Maintain technical documentation and databases for the OTN network.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for maintenance teams.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies.
  • Recommend improvements for OTN network optimization and work efficiencies.
  • Coordinate vendor and stakeholder activities for OTN network optimization.
  • Handle DCN (Data Communication Network) and synchronization planning.
  • Manage Network Management Systems (NMS) focusing on FCAPS functions (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security Management).
  • Manage traffic and configure OTN services as per network requirements.
