Consultancy Services Required
Client: URAAN PAKISTAN
The National TB Control Program, Pakistan, under the Common Management Unit (CMU) for TB, AIDS, and Malaria, is seeking a qualified and experienced National Consultant to conduct a Rapid Assessment of the role of Lady Health Workers (LHWs) in Tuberculosis (TB) control in Pakistan. This initiative aims to evaluate the effectiveness, challenges, and impact of the LHW program on TB prevention and control.
Key Responsibilities:

Verification of LHW Program Coverage:
- Collect and analyze data from relevant stakeholders to verify LHW program coverage across all districts in Pakistan.

Analysis of Existing Policy Framework:
- Review and document the current policy framework for LHWs at both Federal and Provincial levels by engaging with policymakers and analyzing legal documents.

Recruitment and Retention Strategies:
- Evaluate current recruitment and retention strategies for LHWs, including remuneration packages, through stakeholder interviews and data analysis.

LHWs' Involvement in TB Control:
- Assess the involvement of LHWs in TB case detection, preventive treatment, referrals, and treatment support.

Identify Gaps and Challenges:
- Identify any gaps and challenges faced by LHWs within the context of TB control.

Knowledge, Capacity, and Training Assessment:
- Determine the knowledge, capacity, and training of LHWs related to TB management.

Community Perception and Acceptance:
- Assess the community's perception and acceptance of the role of LHWs in TB control.

Recommendation Development:
- Define corrective measures to address gaps and provide actionable recommendations for strengthening the contribution of LHWs in TB control efforts.

Report Preparation:
- Prepare and submit a detailed report summarizing findings and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: MBBS/BDS with MPH, MSPH, Health Policy and Management, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in public health programs.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Pakistan's healthcare system, with a focus on LHW and TB programs.
- Familiarity with global TB strategies and policies is a plus.
- Proven expertise in designing and conducting assessments, including both qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
