CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Ignite is incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 (repealed by the Companies Act, 2017) by the Ministry of IT & Telecom, Government of Pakistan. Ignite funds startups and innovative projects that utilize 4th industrial wave technologies to solve local problems and target global opportunities in sectors such as:

  • Health

  • Education

  • Energy

  • Agriculture

  • Telecom

  • Finance

  • Other verticals

Our network of incubators across Pakistan nurtures startups and engages them with investors and corporations. Some of these startups have graduated with notable success. Additionally, our digital skills training program, DigiSkills.pk, employs an online training platform and AI predictive analytics to provide marketable skills at scale.

We are seeking applications from dynamic individuals with strong credentials and a vision to lead Ignite as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Qualification

The candidate must possess a degree equivalent to sixteen years of education or higher from a national or international university/institute accredited by HEC in one of the following fields:

  • Engineering

  • ICT

  • Business Administration

  • Finance

  • Marketing

  • Related fields

Experience

The candidate must demonstrate at least ten (10) years of experience, with a minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role in the ICT sector or a funding organization with expertise in:

  • Managing research & innovation

  • Fund management

  • Nurturing startup ecosystems

The candidate must also meet the Fit and Proper Criteria for appointment as Chief Executive Officer of a Public Sector Company, as defined in:

  • State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023

  • Applicable rules, guidelines, and procedures

  • Criteria including competence, capability, personal and financial integrity

Required Skill-Set

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with senior academicians and industry leaders

  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior government officials, political leaders, and stakeholders

  • Proven ability to provide vision, lead and manage multiple teams, and deliver measurable results in a corporate environment

  • Experience in evaluating and applying emerging technologies to solve societal problems

  • Industry or academic experience in R&D, technology-based entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation, investment/funding, commercialization, or building an innovation ecosystem

Term of Contract

  • The position reports to the Board of Directors and is for a period of three (3) years

Age Limit

  • The candidate’s maximum age limit at the time of advertisement should not exceed 60 years
