VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Members of Trade Dispute Resolution Commission (TDRC)
The Ministry of Commerce is seeking to appoint Three (03) Members for the Trade Dispute Resolution Commission (TDRC) to perform duties as defined in the Trade Dispute Resolution Act (TDRA), 2022.
- Two (02) members will be from the Private Sector.
- One (01) member will be from the Public Sector, including retired government servants or in-service officers, as per Section-9(2) of TDRA, 2022.
Tenure
- Duration: 3 years, extendable for another 3 years based on satisfactory performance.
Age Limit
- Minimum: 45 years
- Maximum: 62 years (at the time of appointment)
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification (as per TDR Act, 2022)
- The applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan.
- Must have a Master’s Degree or 16 years of education from an HEC-accredited university in one of the following fields:
- International Trade
- Economics
- Accountancy
- Tariff and Trade
- International Commerce
- Business Law & Commercial Law
- Any related field
Experience (as per TDR Act, 2022)
- At least 20 years of professional work experience in the following areas:
- International Trade
- Economics
- Accountancy
- Tariffs and Trade
- International Commerce
- Business Law & Commercial Law
- Related fields
Disqualifications (as per TDR Act, 2022)
A person is ineligible for appointment or continuation as a member of the Commission if:
a) They have been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude.
b) They have been adjudged as insolvent.
c) They are declared physically, psychologically, or mentally unfit by a duly constituted medical board.
d) They fail to disclose a conflict of interest as prescribed by the law.
e) They are found guilty of misconduct.
f) They cease to be a citizen of Pakistan.
Terms & Conditions (as per TDR Act, 2022)
- All members will be employed on a full-time basis with salary and terms as per applicable rules, but not less than the MP-I pay scale.
- If an in-service officer is selected, they must either resign from government service or seek early retirement before joining the Commission.
- A member’s term will end upon reaching 65 years of age or on completion of their term, whichever is earlier.
