National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) - Hiring of Managing Director
Job Announcement:
The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC), set to be rebranded as the National Grid Company (NGC), is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of Pakistan's high-voltage power transmission network, extending to Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Under the governance of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and the Board of Directors, NTDC is undergoing a transformation to enhance reliability, expand its transmission network, and achieve functional and operational efficiency in line with national power sector reforms.
To lead this transition, NTDC is inviting applications for the position of Managing Director (MD). This role demands a leader capable of driving strategic changes and enhancing operational productivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
The MD will oversee the direction and strategic operations of NTDC, coordinating with the Board and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient provision of transmission services. Key tasks include:
- Developing and implementing strategic business plans.
- Restructuring the organization to align with operational goals.
- Streamlining project management for productivity and efficiency.
- Establishing a performance-driven, merit-based compensation structure.
- Enhancing regulatory compliance mechanisms, ensuring adherence to statutory provisions.
- Managing transmission assets to meet reliability targets set by the Regulator.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Energy, Planning Commission, and other entities, to maximize sector benefits.
- Fulfilling performance indicators (KPIs) and ethical standards as per the employment contract.
Qualification and Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. is a plus).
- At least 20 years of professional experience in corporate or power sector roles, including 3 years in senior management (e.g., CEO or MD level).
- Public sector candidates should hold at least 3 years of experience in Grade 20 or above.
- Candidates with power transmission or distribution expertise will receive additional consideration.
- Candidates must meet the "Fit and Proper Criteria" as outlined in the SOEs Act 2023.
Contract Term and Remuneration:
The MD position will be offered on a three-year contract, with an option for extension. The selected candidate will receive a competitive, market-based salary package based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
